Bonjour,
Flight LH1560 left from Munich in delay - due to the late arrival of the aircraft from Toulouse.
After 45 minutes flight, starting descent.
Pilot ask the cabin crew to prepare for landing.
Then, flight made a go around. Starting to turn around the airport.
Captain broadcasted they were facing a technical problem and they were trying to solve it.
It was snowing in Malpensa, we started to think the problem was coming from the airport, not from the plane
After something like 15 minutes, captain broadcasted again explaining they didn't succeed in solving the technical problem. And that the problem were the flaps that were not working. He said he would have land anyway, flying at a higher speed, and braking stronger than usual to stop the plane on the runway.
He said it was nothing bad.
Cabin crew looks calm, not anxious at all.
Passengers were (a bit) ...
Landing went well. Big applause from the passengers to release the tension.
Beside this is the first time it's happening to me in more than 25 years that i am flying (new experience always interesting...), my question is : flaps were not working because frozen ? or hydraulic issue of the plane ?
And, did the plane left Malpensa after a quick repairing or is it still parked there ?
Sorry to write in english but j'ai pas les accens avec ce pc et le francais sans accens ni cedille ca fait mal a lire :)
